JOURNAL OF OUR 10 BELOVED IBIZA PODENGOS

It is the fourth day of joy for us and for your little ones ! The volunteers who have looked after them since Sunday June 10th, have given us their latest update. And those updates are good news for all concerned.
They eat like never before, rest and their wounds and sores are daily attended to by our veterinary friend. Some Podencos are more trusting than others but they all seem to gradually leave their stressful lives behind. They each have now received a specific name and as such, will start their proper existance. They are all on our website, so please check it out.

Today they are all already much calmer and are lounging about on our recreational patio and seem to be very happy to be reunited again. However, whilst some are still a little shy, the legendary bravary of the PODENCO GREYHOUND seems to take over and they’ve started exploring their whole new sanctuary area. Then there are those who have understood that their saviours love them, and they, in turn now, are getting attached to their saviours.
Well now, who would refuse some good food and cuddles ?
LOOK AT THEM AND IMAGINE THEM LAYING AT YOUR FEET………
RAMON, one of our volunteers at the sanctuary told me that CISCO, the 5 year old, does not grumble any more at him, as he now seems to understand that Ramon is there to help him. Cisco now waits in front of the door and asks for cuddles and little by little he is settling. The males will very soon be castrated and receive the required vaccinations. Blood tests will be done, to ensure that they don’t have some of the more dreaded diseases (filarial, leishmania, babiosis and erlichia). As you can see, we are making sure that your future little ones, will receive the best.
